Previous: CHAPTER 9
-YUTAKA-
The birth of the 14th Century had seen me as nothing but a Neophyte – a Newborn a younger than a century, years counted from the time the change had been administered. My Master, Count Ahriman belonged to the ancient line of Vampire Aristocrats who comprised the Council of Vampire called The Archyntum. The Count himself was one of the most important founders of The Archyntum who took great pride in fiercely guarding the precious secrets of our race. My Master had changed me in order to name me his successor. The purpose of doing so was to ensure that the blood line of aristocrats would never cease to exist if he ceased to exist in the near future.
Every single hour was spent in grooming my abilities and talents in order to raise me as the proper successor who would take over my Master’s place in the Vampire Council. My teachers, mostly ancient, full grown vampires educated me in the vampire history and bearings include the human trends. I stayed in my study all day long pouring over all my lectures and home work. I was hardly allowed to go outside except for hunting. It didn’t matter to me though as I was more interested in pleasing my Creator towards whom I was really attached and he in return treated me preciously like I was his own blood son.
In honor of the thousandth Anniversary of The Archyntum a ball was held in my Master’s castle in celebration of the auspicious event. Various vampires from all over the world arrived in order to uphold the greatly dignified traditions and not to miss out on the glorious event. The ball was being held in a private island which belonged to my Master. On the commencement of the ball, I walked along with my aristocratic Creator, elegantly dressed in a camicia, doublet and hose made of expensive silks and velvet which was an asset of the elegant upper class. My master looked regal with his platinum, blond curls and angelic features, stubbornly refusing to exhibit his original age and instead chose to portray him as an adolescent. After important introductions with the other Elders who comprised The Archyntum and the exchange of formal greetings my Master allowed me to excuse myself in order to enjoy the ball.
I lazily walked around the lavishly bedecked Ballroom that had been built within the castle during its original construction. It was two storeys high, fabricated by various skilful architects who had been assembled from various parts of the world. The checkered floor had been constructed with contrasting black and white, perfectly cut marbles. The hall was also furnished with built-in benches upholstered in red plush. The windows had been ornamented with deep red, velvet curtains trimmed with fringes and flourished with braided, rich gold silk. The Ballroom was lit by four large prism chandeliers, each holding 96 candles. Also there were eight large mirrors in each corner of the hall and four more on each longitudinal wall. The second storey was formed by a gallery. There were several columns of white marble and wooden pillars supporting the gallery. On the shorter sides, more columns of white marble extended from the gallery to ceiling. The principal colors of the hall were white and gold. The coffered ceiling, sky blue with diamond patterned panels, was illuminated by the golden light from the chandeliers. The gallery was lit by candelabra and smaller chandeliers.
I roamed about nonchalantly and considerably bored while draining a goblet of wine spiked with blood from time to time. I strayed to the far corner of the huge hall where a group of Neophytes were laughing raucously, poking at each other. Since I really wasn’t used to company, I got ready to walk away when one of them suddenly spoke out loud.
“Well don’t just stand there, we don’t bite people like us”, the bluish, silver haired Neophyte sniggered.
“Um, well”, I hesitated.
“He is right, come on”, another one with dirty blond hair beckoned me towards them.
Slightly troubled, I gave in and walked forward in order to join the Neophytes’ mini group.
“So what’s your name?” the medium height, thin Neophyte with brown, black hair chose to start the conversation first.
“Kai.”
“Tsukasa”, I shook the hand he offered.
“Teru”, the bluish, silver haired guy who had originally invited me offered a gloved hand next.
“To-ru”, the dirty blond haired Neophyte introduced himself next.
“Kazuki.” This soft, brown haired guy had some strange piercings on his face which made him stand out a bit, but still remained attractive.
“Hizaki”, the only girl in the group with long, golden brown curls and a deep, alto tone introduced herself. Her voice didn’t suit her beautiful, soft features or the elegant, red gown that clung perfectly to her body profile.
I shook all their offered hands one by one with a smile on my face. The next moment To-ru started bombarding me with a stream of questions.
“Okay, Kai, where and which clan are you from?”
“From here”, I answered while one of the slaves filled up my empty goblet with more wine. “This is my Master’s castle.”
“Wow, you are Count Ahriman’s son”, Tsukasa exclaimed out loud. “Cool.”
“You could say that”, I laughed.
“Then you must be up to the neck drowned in interesting events”, To-ru asked with his eyes gleaming in excitement. “You guys are in the middle of a war between clans right? So spit it out without holding back any juicy details. And don’t you dare try hiding anything.”
“I am sorry, I can’t help you with that”, I said slightly abashed. “My Master feels that I am too young to be included in the war. Even though I pleaded with him to let me participate and ease his burden, he just won’t listen. He wants me to be happy and insists on me being at least a century older before I take part.”
“Man that’s a bummer”, Kazuki groaned.
“Hey, watch the language”, Hizaki chided. “Have you forgotten where we are?”
“Talk to yourself, Hizaki”, Kazuki sneered. “This is why I keep telling you guys not to include women in our meetings.”
As soon as the words left Kazuki’s mouth, Hizaki slapped him across the face earning cacophonous laughs of approval from the others.
“You’ll die if you ever call me a woman again, insensitive bastard”, Hizaki growled in anger.
“Hizaki”, Kazuki cried in shock. He immediately started looking around in fake panic. “Have you forgotten where we are? What if someone hears you?”
I laughed along with the others. I already started to love my new found company. As I had always been surrounded my ancient Full-growns, I felt more alive among the company of Neophytes my own age.
“Hey, Kai”, To-ru started again. “Even though you are being kept in the dark about the war I am sure being the son of an Elder you must at least have some very interesting training and thrilling events when it comes to your everyday life, right?”
“No”, I shook my head in denial. “My everyday life is pretty much normal like that of a human’s. I am made to study all night and sometimes trained in mortal combat but apart from that nothing else. I am not even allowed to go outside except for hunting.”
“Hey are you sure you are his son?” Kazuki asked incredulously. “You sound more like a slave to me.”
“Being a slave isn’t uncommon”, Teru broke in.
“I know genius”, Kazuki scoffed. “But Kai is being raised as Count Ahriman’s successor. Sometimes I just can’t comprehend what crazy thoughts go around in the mind of these Elders when they create sons. I mean take Hizaki for example.”
“Do you have to drag me into every single thing, Kazuki?” Hizaki shrieked.
“Watch it girly”, Kazuki rolled his eyes. “Who in the right mind would doll up a man as a woman marionette?”
“Man?” I spluttered as I choked on my wine. “Hizaki is a man?”
“You didn’t notice?” Tsukasa chortled. “You are a knucklehead. I mean come on, his voice is nothing like a girl’s.”
“But the women of the Archyntum always adopt the tone of a man in all the meetings I have attended so far.”
“They just fake it for authority, idiot”, To-ru teased. “Seriously what sort of training have they been subjecting you on?”
“Hey, I am still learning”, I frowned defensively.
“Kazuki is right though”, Teru chuckled. “Your Master must be suffering from a pervert disease, Hizaki.”
“Don’t you dare talk about Kamijo sama like that”, Hizaki snarled menacingly, his eyes glowing scarlet in wrath.
“Easy princess”, Teru raised his hands in surrender.
“Okay, calm down Hizaki”, I patted his shoulder trying to placate him. “If we cause a ruckus now we will get hauled by the ruffs of our necks and thrown unceremoniously out.”
Hizaki reluctantly controlled his temper and reverted back to normal, the scarlet in his orbs fading back to the original color of stygian black.
“You know what, Kai”, Tsukasa suddenly broke in failing to suppress his bubbling excitement. “You should come with us.”
“Where?”
“Japan.”
“Yeah, you should”, Hizaki smiled. “It will be fun. We can play a lot.”
“But I don’t think I will be allowed”, I hung my head sadly in disappointment.
“I will be back, gentlemen”, Hizaki smirked setting his goblet down on the richly, polished surface of the ebony table and disappeared into the crowd.
“Where is the princess off to?” Teru asked suspiciously.
“Who knows”, Kazuki answered uninterestedly. “Knowing him, I bet it’s got something to do with Kamijo sama.”
We stood there chatting merrily for a while before Hizaki appeared.
“Pack your bags after the party, Kai”, Hizaki beamed. “We are leaving tomorrow at dusk.”
“Uh”, I gasped confused.
“The kind Count has given us permission to have you as our honorable guest in my castle at the Land of the Rising Sun, Kai kun”, a charming Elder with golden hair stepped up in front of our small group accompanied by my Master who had his trademark angelic smile plastered to his face.
Kazuki wolf whistled which made him the target of the angry glares directed towards our direction.
“Why the sudden decision?” I asked my Master unable to hold back my curiosity.
“Hizaki kun here convinced Kamijo san who in turn ordered me to let you visit no matter what”, he laughed.
Kazuki who stood behind my Master mouthed I-told-you-so at me.
“Master, are you sure?”
“You should go, Kai”, my Master smiled his angelic smile which always made me weak at the knees making me feel like I was nothing but a little child staring open mouthed at beautiful creatures like fairies and unicorns. “Kamijo san has agreed to train you in Japanese etiquette so there is no reason for me to hold you back. Besides it must be fun to be surrounded by Neophytes your own age.”
My Master, even though belonged to the blood line of the English royalty, had always appreciated the Japanese culture. That was one of the reasons why he had made me his successor, a Japanese by birth and even gave me the name Kai after he changed me into a vampire.
“Thank you”, I smiled happily.
Lord Kamijo and my Master soon left to join the other Elders leaving the five of us alone again.
“The rest of you are staying with us as well”, Hizaki grinned mischievously. “We should place Kai under our own personal rigorous training too.”
“I like that”, To-ru sniggered which made me very skeptical about my decision, making me wonder if it really was safe to go along with my Master’s wish.
The next day I left to Japan along with Lord Kamijo and my new found friends. I felt extremely guilty about leaving my Master behind. But he lovingly held me in his arms and assured me gently that he would be fine and humorously ordered me to properly groom myself in Japanese culture. I felt myself turning all teary eyed when he reluctantly let me go as I had never left him to journey anywhere from the time he had changed me. Holding back my tears, I smiled before climbing into the waiting ship to head off to Japan.
Kamijo sama lived in a magnificent, beautiful castle built in traditional Japanese style on the top of a mountain. The entire castle complex comprised a network of ninety three buildings which included storehouses, gates, corridors, earthen walls and turrets. The fortresses, built of wood and stone, isolated the entire framework from the rest of civilization. The interiors comprised of elegant architectures and decorations. The stone and dirt of the mountain carved into the rough fortifications comprised a part of the architecture. The curved walls of the castle were built in order to resemble giant fans. Kamijo sama’s family crest was engraved throughout the architecture of the building. The highest walls in the castle complex were 30 meters tall. Deep ditches filled with water that were diverted from mountain streams were dug in order to prevent intruders, mainly overly nosy humans from entering the castle. There were four moats which were filled with the mountain water. Also it held a confused maze of paths that would ensure a human to lose its way and in the end would only result in them becoming the source for quenching a vampire’s thirst. Vampire intruders were prevented by traps which were capable of completely immobilizing and freezing them on the spot and in the end conflagrated to death by the lethal sunlight which was sure to reach the traps at day break. Adding to the protection was the slave guards who diligently protected the castle. A huge, lovely garden filled with green, luscious grass and flowers of various varieties was enclosed within the castle complex. My friends and I were given separate rooms to be used during our stay. The room offered to me was large and spacious, ornamented with shoji screens, furniture, interior decoration and a futon. I was even given a closet full of traditional Japanese wear. Even though the entire castle was built in a way that sunlight could freely enter the place, the inhabitants were kept safe by secret underground tunnels that completely blocked any form of light from touching them.
Kamijo sama adhered to the promise he had made to my Master and trained me befittingly in the Japanese protocol. He educated me in both the human as well as the vampiric ways. I obediently learned everything I was taught and never failed to please my tutor. I was also trained in mortal combat along with the other five in Japanese methods of defense. The strictly followed traditions of the Japanese were really wonderful and I could finally understand why my Master was so mesmerized with their amazing techniques and insisted on my learning as well.
The remaining time during which I wasn’t engrossed with my training, was spent with the other five. The five of them made me face their so called rigorous training. Their goal was to lighten me up from the stiff behavior that was always being enforced upon me by the Elders. At first, I wasn’t very happy about the things they forced me to do along with them. Their tasks which at first seemed innocent almost always ended with nastiness at various degrees. Eventually, I loosened up and actually started anticipate my time with them always making an escape as soon as we were relieved from our austere lessons. But as days passed, some of the disagreeable things which the six of us indulged ourselves in started metamorphosing into life threatening situations. Several times we had been caught and profusely warned, sometimes even gruesomely punished. But it never stopped the six of us as we secretly laughed about it behind our backs.
One day Kazuki, the main mastermind who almost always orchestrated our pranks, came up with one of his most craziest and dangerous schemes.
“Are you guys up for hunting?” he asked enthusiastically.
“Yes”, we yelled in unison.
“Then we start at five and attack the village at the foot of the mountain.”
“Five?” Teru gasped. “Kazuki, we will definitely get killed by the sun.”
“No we won’t”, Kazuki laughed maniacally. “There is an underground tunnel near the northern tower which directly leads to base of the mountain. So the plan is to attack and get to the tunnel as fast as possible.”
I scrutinized silently as Kazuki relayed out his so called ingenious plan. The plan was full of holes and one of the stupidest, worst life threatening strategies ever. But when the other four participated excitedly in the discussion I knew there was nothing I could do to stop them as it was the thrill that kept them happy and lively.
At four thirty, the six of us sneaked out and followed Kazuki as he led us to the underground tunnel he had talked about earlier. We reached the base of the mountain in a matter of seconds due to our inhuman speed.
“The village is twenty minutes from here”, Kazuki whispered. “Don’t get lost and remember to get back here by the break of dawn.”
Nodding our heads in silent agreement, we split. The village was just a few miles away from the mountain. According to the others, it was supposed to take only five minutes for a vampire to get there. Only after running for several miles did I realize that I completely was lost. Since the other five had lived here from the time they had been changed they were very well aware of the location they were headed to. I on the other hand being an outsider had no idea and they had nicely forgotten about the important deed of making sure I knew the village they had planned the attack on. I found myself in the middle of a barren island with nothing except for the hard ground spreading out for miles. There were no trees, houses or any form of life. There was always the option of following my own scent back to the castle, but it was too late. The sun had started to rise and there was no place for me to hide. I was doomed.
The sun that had appeared in the horizon steadily dissolved the darkness that had occupied the sky during night and replaced it with a brilliant, crimson. The sunlight would soon reach the spot I was currently standing and I would be burned to death in a matter of seconds. I had once seen a vampire being turned to ashes and it really hadn’t been a very nice reminiscence. The man had had his ghostly, pale skin charred black in a matter of minutes, black smoke emitting off his ruined body in the process. His eyes had melted out of the sockets and the teeth had fallen off one by one. Soon the arms, legs and the entire body had melted into a puddle and then slowly converted into ashes. It was one of the goriest sights ever and the vampire had let a blood curdling scream which still made me uncomfortable whenever I remembered about it.
At that moment, I regretted my complete stupidity which had led me to betray the trust my Master had placed upon me. The only image that played in my mind was his beautiful, ancient face etched with sadness when the news of the foolishness that had led to my death would soon be brought to his knowledge. Fighting back tears, I tried my best to brace myself in the face of death like the proud vampire that had been raised by Count Ahriman. I folded my hands behind my back and clenched my eyes shut bravely awaiting the burning which would soon snuff my life out.
All of a sudden, my sharp ears picked up the sound of running footsteps which headed towards me from behind. Perplexed, I fluttered my eye lids open in order to look at the source of intrusion when a huge, thick black cloth was thrown on top of me, completely shrouding me from the sunlight. I was knocked to the ground by a heavy body which had thrown itself on top of me.
“Don’t move”, a halcyon voice ordered.
“Who are you?” I whispered in a tone flooded with relief.
No answer.
I waited patiently under the thick, coarse material waiting for the sun to set. I lost count of the number of time I tried to start a conversation. But my Savior never uttered a single word and stubbornly remained silent. From his voice and the slow sounds of breathing, I knew he was a human male. The delicious odor of blood was wafting from his body towards my sensitive nostrils. But my near death experience had completely erased my earlier blood lust, so I just listened to the steady rhythmic heart beat in order to kill time.
After what seemed like an eternity, my Savior finally climbed off me and released me from under the blanket. The sun had completely set, shrouding the surroundings completely in darkness. I turned my nocturnal eyes to my Savior, a human male who looked no older than twenty. He was dressed in a plain, black yukata which failed to hide the strong chest underneath it. He was a beautiful male, with midnight black orbs that seemed to hold a lot of secrets behind them. His glossy, raven black hair that reflected off the moonlight was pulled back in a high, pony tail. At the moment he was looking at me with a blank expression on his face.
“Thank you”, I said gratefully.
He walked forward in order to close the small distance between us. Next he did the unexpected. He slapped me across the face so hard that the sound which was released when his palm connected my face echoed in the empty space. The harsh slap might have knocked a human down, but I couldn’t feel anything as I was immensely stronger than him. But that didn’t stop me from being completely taken aback with shock.
“Why, you…”
“That’s for getting nearly killed, stupid brat”, he said before turning away and starting to walk in the opposite direction.
“Who are you calling a brat?” I growled annoyed. “Do you have any idea about how old I am?”
“Doesn’t change the truth about you being a brat”, he said continuing to saunter away from me. “Only a fool would jeopardize his life like that.”
“Wait”, I yelled. “How did you know I would get killed by the sun? What do you know about my kind?”
He stopped in his tracks and turned around to look at me. I stood frozen as I awaited his answer.
“Brat.”
“Fine, at least give me your name”, I demanded angrily. “It wouldn’t hurt you to tell me your name right?”
This time he didn’t bother to call me any names nor did he turn around as he walked away slowly melting into the darkness. I stood there dumbstruck for a while contemplating whether to follow him and beat the answers out of him. Also there was the fact about the mortal being very knowledgeable about my kind’s secrets including the secrets of the ways of destroying us. I distinctly remembered the vampire law and I knew I shouldn’t be letting him walk away freely. But I couldn’t really bring myself to kill him as he had saved me from a very gruesome death.
“I better head back”, I thought following my scent, which still lingered in the surroundings back to Kamijo sama’s castle.
On reaching the castle, I tried my best to be as quiet as possible in order not to get caught by any of the inmates of the castle. When I entered the study, I found the five of them sitting gloomily with their heads held low. On hearing the sound of my footsteps, they jumped and ran towards me and locked me in a tight, suffocating embrace.
“You lucky bastard”, Kazuki punched my hand. “We thought you would have been burned like a charcoal in an oven by now.”
“Guess there was still a lot of mischief left for me to do”, I sniggered.
“We are so sorry, Kai”, Hizaki apologized nearly on the verge of tears. “We should have made sure that you were aware of the direction we were headed to.”
“But that really was stupid what we did”, Teru hung his head down shamefully. “We nearly got ourselves killed.”
“Which indeed is true”, Kamijo sama’s ominous voice made us all flinch. We had been so engrossed in our reunion that the presence of the Elder had been gone unnoticed by us. He looked really livid, his nostrils flared in anger.
“Kamijo sama, I..”
“Enough”, he raised his hand with authority indicating me to stop. “I don’t want to hear it. You have severely disappointed me. I should have followed the Count’s example of confining you within the castle and restricting your freedom.”
“Kamijo sama, it isn’t Kai’s fault”, Hizaki fell on the floor in front of the Elder, his nose touching the ground in apology. “I was the one behind this. It was due to my carelessness that Kai got nearly killed.”
“I am disappointed with you too, Hizaki”, the Elder lashed out angrily. “Shouldn’t you have known better? If something had happened to Kai, how would I be able to face Count Ahriman? I trusted you enough to let you take care of our guest but instead you exhibit such shameful behavior.”
Kamijo sama’s wrath left me completely ashamed. I could only hang my head low in shame as Hizaki selflessly remained in the receiving end of the Elder’s acrimony.
“Kai, look up”, Kamijo sama ordered.
I timidly looked up only to be met with his despairing expression.
“I am sorry, son”, the Elder sighed, his face morphed with deep sadness. “I originally invited you here so that you could be free of all the restrictions that were being imposed upon you in your homeland. I wanted you to taste freedom at least under me. That’s the reason why I overlooked all your mischief. But when you go as far as playing with your life then I might as well change my ways too.”
“Kamijo sama..”
“No”, he interrupted me before I could apologize. “I am confining you within the castle till the end of your stay. You will not be allowed to step outside. And whenever you feel thirsty, you will be accompanied by some of the slaves. This is the toughest decision I have ever made, but you leave with me no choice.”
Without another word, Kamijo sama exited. The others looked at me with shocked expressions that mirrored my own. I was very much aware of the fact that I had flawlessly lost my case and there was nothing left to do. The Elder would have normally listened to Hizaki but this time it was totally out of question. I wasn’t very happy about my punishment. After savoring the forbidden taste of freedom, I didn’t want to be deprived of it. Also there was the question of the mortal. If I had informed Kamijo sama about the human then maybe he would have allowed me to at least fulfill my duties according to the law. But I couldn’t as I was still filled with immense gratitude towards him. So in the end all I could do was to curse my ill fate.
“Kai..”, To-ru started.
“I am going to my room”, I stated curtly through gritted teeth, leaving the others behind.
I remained sulking, locked up inside my room without bothering to attend my lessons for the day. I wasn’t angry with Kamijo sama for house arresting me as it was something even my own Master wouldn’t hesitate doing. This isn’t the first time I had been confined inside a castle as that was how my life had been back in Europe. But the small taste of freedom had felt so good that I wasn’t very happy about it being taken away from me again.
The day soon died and I came out of the hiding place underneath the room and went to stand by the shoji screen that covered the window. I slid it open and stared at the bright, full moon ornamenting the raven, black sky. As I looked at the beautiful, bright sphere I was suddenly reminded of the beautiful mortal who had saved me and left without a word. For some unexplainable reason, I wanted to see him again. But I knew that my confinement would definitely make it impossible to fulfill my burning desire. Now all that I could do was wait for the day I would soon be shipped back to Europe.
“Psst”
The sound seemed to come from outside the window, way below the room. I looked down to find a grinning Kazuki waving happily at me from the castle grounds. He climbed the wall to my room which was located in one of the turrets at the twentieth floor and entered through the window.
“What are you doing here?” I scowled angrily. “What’s so difficult about understanding the meaning of I want to be alone?”
“I am hurt, Kai”, Kazuki faked a gloomy expression. “Poor me thought you would be very happy to see your friend. Or am I the only one who thinks that way about you?”
“Cut the crap, I am not in the mood.”
“Look”, he sighed looking very guilty. “I know you are angry. And you being thrown into this miserable situation is my fault no matter how you look at it. So I am here to undo my mistake.”
He removed a scroll from the folds of his sleeve and started unrolling it. I watched in interest as he spread the long paper on the desk.
“I made this when I first visited Kamijo sama’s castle”, he grinned.
I gasped in surprise as my eyes took in what the scroll contained. It was an intricately detailed map of the castle, perfectly drawn to the very last bit of exhaustive detail. Every fortress, tower, storehouse and tunnel was clearly depicted in the map including places that the unknown to others.”
“This is brilliant”, I cried in awe.
“Thanks”, he smiled sheepishly running a hand through his soft, brown hair. “Well let’s get to the point.”
He traced a pale finger on the scroll to a tunnel below the fortress near the third moat.
“Look at this baby here”, he sang. “This directly leads to the base of the mountain, which is shrouded completely by forests. You can sneak outside through the narrow opening. And try to be as quiet as possible. The trees will definitely hide you from the guards but they are trained and always have their eyes and ears open, so careful.”
“Um, are you sure?” I asked skeptically. “What if I get caught? You think Kamijo sama wouldn’t know about the tunnels in his own castle?”
“I guarantee you that you won’t get discovered. I haven’t caught the smell of anyone in that place except for my own. Besides Kamijo sama is too lazy to explore the castle as he is more occupied with dolling up Hizaki.”
I laughed along with him as an image of the femininely dressed Hizaki played in mind. But knowing him, he would never complain as he seemed to love the prospect of dressing up as a woman.
“Thank you”, I beamed with gratitude as he grinned back at me.
Like Kazuki had articulated, the tunnel was indeed unknown to everyone in the castle including the Elder. As soon as I had been released from the next day’s lessons, I sneaked out of the narrow exit and ran around happily drinking in the cool night air. I pranced about here and there, giggling and howling like an idiot. I didn’t let myself enjoy the illegal freedom for too long as there was something more important left in my hands to be done. I started scouring the land in order to find the human male. I started my search from the place where I had first encountered him. I wasn’t very fortunate enough as he had already vacated the place and there was no trace of him as the rain that had followed my lucky escape had made sure to wash away all his scent. So there was no lead left in order to track him. Time was running out and soon the morning sun would be born. Without wasting any more precious time, I hurried back to the castle.
Days passed, and I still hadn’t been caught for my obvious disobedience. The tunnel still remained undiscovered by the castle’s inhabitants. The other five who were aware of my secret midnight excursions were very careful about not slipping anything out. They never asked me about it either as it wasn’t a safe topic to discuss in the midst of hundreds of sharp ears. So we marked it as forbidden topic and strictly refrained ourselves from talking about it. And also I never got the opportunity to tell them about the object of my search either. I hadn’t found the human male yet, but I never gave up . I could only hope to find him before my short stay in Japan soon approached to an end.
A/N: TADAAAA!!!! No wait don't kill me. This was originally supposed to be one single chapter but it turned out so humongous i mean a frigging 25 pages. But still I tried to post the entire thing, sadly LJ rejected my appeal T_T So I refuse to die as it isn't my fault this time. So for now enjoy this. The rest I will try to update tomorrow or the day after as I want to make some adjustments and make it fit as a separate chapter. So I guess the development will be pushed to Chapter 12. But cheer up as the promised development will definitely happen ^__^ Love you all beloved readers <3<3<3And just so you know. To-ru is none other than 12012's Kawauchi Tohru. This was his stage name in one of his ex-bands. And I know D'espairsRay is disbanded and Tsukasa belongs to The Micro Head 4N's. But I still haven't listened to his new band. That is why I chose to add D'espairsRay in the list of bands.
